against my will

always things you said
words that only you would tell me
crazy things so small but brings
memories of you into everything

and when i look behind i find
i thought you'd always be mine
you're closing around me still
i love you against my will

you sat down beside me
held my hand and looked into my eyes
you said you'd always be mine
and i believe that lie

and when i see us now somehow
i don't understand why or how
you're closing around me still
i love you against my will

forever

the light in you is taken
there's a sadness in your eyes i've never known
that can't be mistaken
you've gone and made that sacrifice on your own

you know how much i love you
i think all will fall in place
once i can persuade you
love cannot be erased

the ones who fell apart right away
never loved each other anyway
and maybe things aren't always perfect
but if you reach above the surface
you will see
the beautiful face you are to me
smile at least to say you've tried
let me see that sparkle in your eyes

you and me cannot be
broken from the strong grip we hold
never let go and you'll see
the days will go by faster i'm told

and don't look down at your feet
when you could be looking up at me
try your chances now
show me that you know how

to lift your wings above...
and fall in love...

forever

black and white

how do your eyes tell me who you are
and who i am in the same moment
why do i cry to see black against white?
they're just colors, colors that torment

i guess what i thought i knew is true
who you love can completely define you.

and i'll fight for you through it all
no matter how many times i fall

i'll shatter the glass of a million days without you
yes i'll learn fast to treasure what i have of you

i'll pick up the pieces
of your broken heart everytime...

please turn your face, enlighten me again
are you the same...smile for me again
i know you cry to see black against white
they're just colors, colors that prevent

a mind that has a thought to see
a thought that has a chance to be free

and i'll fight for you through it all
no matter how many times i fall

i'll shatter the glass of a million days without you
yes i'll learn fast to treasure what i have of you

i'll pick up the pieces
of your broken heart everytime

windmills of your mind

Words and music by Alan Bergman and Michel Jean Legrand

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnaval balloon
Like a carousell that's turning
Running rings around the moon

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that I said
Lovers walking allong the shore,
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circle that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind
