Little Children

I found you in my sleep
You spoke mysterious dreams to me
You told me you were strong
And you'd take care of me

I found you in the trees
You spoke through all of the beauty to me
You told me you were good
And you'd take care of me

And all the life
I had in me when I was young
I trace it back
To a secret joy I felt

In all the life
I found when I was young
I trace it back
To you

I found you in the sweet
Lullabies you'd sing to me
You told me you were true
And you'd take care of me

I found you in the streets
Among the poor and lonely ones
You told me you were close
And you'd take care of me

And all the life
We had in us when we were young
I trace it back
To a secret love we felt

For all the life
That this world had when we were young
I trace it back
To you

Tired hands though we may be
Let us love without fear
Tired souls though we may be
Let our joy abandon sleep

Stricken hearts though we may be
Let us embrace as children do
Stricken minds look on this world
With the innocence of youth
